The Design: At one point in late Summer of 1951, the New York Giants trailed the first place Brooklyn Dodgers by 13 1/2 games. Spurred by a 16-game winning streak, the Giants were able to tie Dodgers during the final weekend of the season. The 3-game playoff kicked off with a Giants victory at Ebbets Field. In game 2 at the Polo Grounds, the Dodgers came roaring back, tying up the series with a 10-0 win, thus setting up the 3rd and final game (cleverly depicted with the 3 stars on the graphic). Down 4-1 in the 9th, the Giants rallied for a run off starter Don Newcombe, who was eventually lifted with one out and runners at second and third. Ralph Branca was called upon to face Bobby Thomson, who had hit 31 home runs on the year, including a couple off of Branca. Thomson took the first pitch for a strike and then jumped on a Branca fastball…the rest, as they say, is history. Legendary broadcaster, Ross Hodges, was on the call…”There’s a long drive…it’s gonna be…I believe…the Giants win the pennant! The Giants win the pennant! The Giants win the pennant!” One of the more iconic home run calls of all time. Thomson’s HR was dubbed ‘The Shot Heard ’Round the World’ and it’s our inspiration for this graphic.

Big Fly Wins On Customer Service!

There was an address transposition on this delivery (no idea how - no fault both sides. Stuff happens) I called customer service and and my package was found and re-routed and in my hands in three days.

The shirt itself is AMAZING, both graphically and in the way it feels and fits. This was one item of five items in my fourth order and I’ve already placed my fifth, which was shipped out same day.

I cannot PRAISE Big Fly Gear and the Rojas family enough!!! I’m working my way through the Storytelling line, with a hoodie or two thrown in. 100% awesome products and customer service.

Great Design and Feel

Absolutely love the design and the story behind the shirt. I grew up and still live in the greater NYC area so of course was raised on stories of the golden age of baseball in New York during the 40s and 50s so when I saw this I had to have it and glad I made the purchase. And of course it helps that Big Fly Co. not only has great customer service but I also love their commitment to giving back.

Love the shirts

Submitted a Return / Exchange Request & Did Not Receive a Reply

I ordered this shirt for my dad for Father’s Day. He loves it but needs a size larger than what I ordered. I submitted a “Return Request” through the website where I asked for a simple exchange for a larger size. I received an email saying I would hear back after my request was reviewed and I still haven’t heard back after a week. I would love a response so I can get this shirt exchanged and get my dad a shirt he can wear to some games we have coming up. Was impressed by how quickly the shirt was delivered but am disappointed in the customer service regarding an exchange / return.
