The Design: If you're a baseball fan, you probably grew up playing the game and imagining what it would be like to hit a walk-off home run in the World Series. Hall of Fame catcher, Carlton Fisk, realized this dream in Game 6 of the 1975 World Series against the Cincinnati Reds. Game 6 was an elimination game for the Sox and it was a battle. Boston had rallied for 3 runs in the bottom of the 8th inning to tie the game at 6. The Sox had a chance to win it in the 9th inning as they loaded the bases against Rawly Eastwick and then Will McEnaney. McEnaney got Fred Lynn to fly out in foul territory and after making the catch, George Foster fired home to gun down Denny Doyle at the plate. A ground out would end the 9th inning and send the game into extra innings. It remained tied until the bottom of the 12th inning when Fisk led off. After getting ahead 1-0, Fisk dropped the barrel on a sinker from Pat Darcy (the Reds 8th pitcher of the night) and pulled one down the left field line...Fisk, hopping down the first base line and trying to wave the ball fair, got his wish as the ball sailed over the Green Monster for the walk-off Big Fly. It was a magical night for the Red Sox and while they did pick up the win on one of the most iconic World Series home runs in baseball history, the Sox would eventually fall to the Reds in 7 games.
