The Design: While many claim baseball as America’s pastime, the game transcends borders and is loved by many around the world. Japan is a perfect example of a country that has embraced the game and has sent many unbelievable players to the U.S. to play in the big leagues. The greatest home run hitter of all-time in Japan is Sadaharu Oh. Oh spent 22 seasons mashing baseballs for the Yomiuri Giants. Like Babe Ruth, the Giants originally signed Oh as a pitcher but later learned his value was in the batter’s box. Oh amassed 868 career home runs and had a run of 22 consecutive seasons of 10 or more home runs (the only season in which he didn’t hit 10 or more was his rookie campaign of 1959, when he hit 7). While Oh never played Major League Baseball in the States, there was one other Japanese player who did come over and followed in Oh’s long-ball footsteps. Hideki Matsui hit a total of 507 career home runs between Japan/MLB (playing for the same Yomiuri Giants as Oh and then on to the New York Yankees, Los Angeles Angels, Oakland A’s & Tampa Bay Rays). 2018 American League Rookie of the Year, Shohei Ohtani, is now on his way to following in those same footsteps.

Big neck

I own XXXL shirts from Baseballism that fit great. I like roominess in my shirts but not a huge hole for the neck. This has the huge hole. I’m 6’2”, 245. Love the look and think Victor is a fantastic announcer (best in the business), which is why I tried this shirt out. Don’t think I’ll buy another for that reason, though (and I want to).

Love this design

Huge fan of this series in general, but this design is my favorite. As a lifelong Angels fan, though, I may be a bit biased... Love the color scheme, design and memories of my days as a kid rooting for the California Angels.
